Job Description

Role Summary:
Responsible for processes and controls for the calculating and reporting of income taxes for financial statement and management purposes in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("US GAAP") and BHGE Policy.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Global Tax Reporting Leader, you will:
  • Manage the tax provision policies, processes and control design, documentation and execution
  • Consolidate & review global provision
  • Prepare & review of corporate effective tax rate ("ETR") under ASC 740
  • Consult with global and regional tax provision preparers
  • Analyze the realization of deferred tax assets
  • Liaise with tax leadership across the global to coordinate the flow of information, including identification of accounting implications from tax planning and other corporate initiatives (e.g. restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions etc.)
  • Perform impact of ASU updates, accounting announcements, law changes, etc.
  • Prepare Securities & Exchange Commission ("SEC") reporting for multiple filers
  • Perform income statement and balance sheet presentation (jurisdictional netting, classified balance sheet reporting, etc.)
  • Prepare income tax footnote disclosures as well as Management Discussion & Analysis ("MD&A")
  • Assist in the effort to ensure the business is compliant with US GAAP and SEC rules
  • Support the company’s quarterly and annual FIN 48 (ASU 740-10) analysis and review processes, including accountability for FIN 48 issues arising from or affecting tax planning, compliance and reporting
  • Manage worldwide financial statement audit of income taxes, both internal and external
  • Coordinate with non-tax functions (finance, treasury, etc.) to understand their goals and initiatives and ensure tax accounting issues are properly addressed
  • Deploy tax technology and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage special projects including mergers, acquisitions, carve-out financial statements, and other tax planning initiatives
  • Manage adherence with global tax compliance filings
  • Assist with global risk management and strategy
  • Work with other tax specialists to ensure global reporting and compliance is appropriate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 years experience in public accounting, law firm, multinational business and/or Oil & Gas industry

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in US GAAP accounting for income taxes and tax compliance processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence others, both directly and indirectly as well as operate effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent research, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries, functions and geographies
  • Effective leader / influencer within the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
  • Experience with SAP and OneSource Income Tax software
  • Strong process management skills and team leadership experience
  • Provides feedback, coaching, and guidance where appropriate to enhance other’s skill development
  • CPA strongly preferred
